Daniel started competitive road cycling at the age of 15. Good sprinter, the victories on road quickly followed one another, until becoming French university champion on road and vice-champion of France university in individual pursuit on track cycling the same year (1981).
Then, he joined the Bataillon de Joinville, French military team, with which he won the bronze medal at the military world championships in track cycling team pursuit (1983).
He was preselected for the Olympic Games, but a very unfortunate fall in a preparatory race deprived him of the selection (1984).
Then he became a sales engineer in a multinational company until 2013. Since 2018, he has been the coach of the Franco-Canadian team, with the objective of bringing to the team his experience in high-level cycling and to share his passion for this sport.
